These appliances not only provide an ample amount of hot water but they save a great deal of nonrenewable energy as well. Because of the unlimited access to sunlight, solar water heaters can work everywhere regardless of the climate.

A solar water heater works very simply: it comes with a storage tank and a solar energy collector which is kept facing the sun. The water is passed through the storage tank and is heated by the sunlight. A water heater of this type can be used in conjunction with systems such as a pre-heater.
